Welcome to the NZVS Wellington Centre!
Wellington has a thriving vegetarian and vegan community and there is always something happening that you can join in with.
We are well provided for with plenty of veg-friendly cafes and restaurants. There are several solely veggie cafes and restaurants in and around Wellington and the Hutt.
To find out what we have going on, you can either go join our email list (sign up here) or check us out on Meetup.com.
We are always ready to give advice and support to people wanting to know more about going and being veggie. Even if you are only wanting to reduce the amount of animal products in your diet, we can answer questions and offer suggestions for helpful alternatives.
The NZVS Wellington Centre is very active and runs social events in Wellington and the Hutt. We have potlucks, film nights, eating out, talks and Christmas dinner. Because we love to eat fantastic food all our events are based around eating and, to be inclusive, all food at our events is vegan. We welcome everyone, including people new to vegetarian or vegan lifestyles and those considering it.
We also participate in local expos and events such as the monthly night market Vegan Vault, Holistic Festival, Better Home and Living Show and Diwali Festival of Lights, with the aim of actively promoting a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. We are always looking for volunteers to help on stalls at these events. If that sounds like you, please get in touch.
We give talks about the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle to schools and community groups.
