Welcome to the Food area of the NZVS website. Whether eating casually or getting together for dinners and feasts, food is one of life’s great pleasures. Try some of our free recipes and enjoy! For more selection, a variety of vegetarian and vegan recipe books are available from our bookshop. Other pages in this section include cooking tips, nutrition information, and vegetarian cafes and restaurants. Vegetarian and vegan food is exciting, sexy and the way of the future!

We are delighted to introduce you to Alessandra Zecchini’s Recipe Blog, Only Recipes. Alessandra is a chef, food writer and recipe book author, and is very supportive of the NZ Vegetarian Society. Many of you will have attended her popular demonstrations at past Auckland Food & Lifestyle Festivals. Check out her blog for vegetarian and vegan recipes and tips – we do!

The UK Vegetarian Society has provided this weekly meal plan. The recipes all work for NZ cooks and the plan encompasses all the nutrition needs we have, with tips and links to other resources.
