Check out our Local Groups page to find a vegetarian group near you, and let us know if you are organising something.

The Noticeboard is for you: contact us to post your requests or offers of accommodation, support, group membership, work, veg*n animal adoption, or local campaigns.

    1. Whangarei – Informal Cafe Meet-ups @ Indulge Cafe
      10:30 am – 12:00 pm

      Vegans and vegetarians meet casually at Indulge Cafe in Cameron St on Saturday mornings at 9.30am.  The word is out that if you pop along to the cafe after visiting the Growers Market or shopping the chances are (but no guarantee)  you will find some vege folk there.The cafe provides a few vegan food items too.

    2. Wellington Walk in Belmont Regional Park
      2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Meet at 2pm Dry Creek entrance near SH2 and SH58 intersection (Western Hutt Road and Haywards Hill Road.) Manor Park Train Station is the closest train station. The park entrance is a 10 minute walk. (http://www.gw.govt.nz/belmont/)

      The breathtaking views and bush-clad valleys of Belmont Regional Park make it a favourite open space for walking, running, mountain biking and horse riding. Located in the hill country between Porirua and the Hutt Valley, the park features the historic Korokoro Dam, World War II ammunition stores and the original main coach road from Wellington. Boulder Hill has sweeping views over Porirua Harbour, the Lower Hutt valley and the remnants of ancient boulder block fields.

      Come along to the North Shore Vegetarian Group dinner at an Indian Restaurant in Albany. Enjoy a relxed night with like minded people.

      We are kicking off with our first A4A of 2013 on Tues 26th Feb @6.30.

       

      We are doing welcome back games and cooking that night.

    2. Dunedin Veg*an = Healthy? Panel discussion on veg*an nutrition @ The Practice Room, 1st floor OUSA Clubs and Socs/Recreation Building
      7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

      Come along and hear Dr Anne-Louise Heath (Senior Lecturer, Department of Human Nutrition) and Christina Keys (Canadian Registered Holistic Nutritionist) talk about vegan and vegetarian nutrition. Format will be brief talks from these nutrition experts followed by 20-30 minutes for questions.

      11:00 am – 5:00 pm

      Wellington vegfest is a summer explosion of music, food and culture.

      Vegfest 2013 is a free entry community festival offering entertainment, information and delicious veg food to the public.  There will be scrumptious food and fun activities for kids such as face painting and creative space. Jinu Abraham, executive chef for the Heritage Hotel will be there.

      Music from Dan Green, French for Rabbits, DJ Remedy, One Lone Lily, and more.

      Cool veg friendly goods to buy. Information on a whole range of veg stuff and community groups.
