World Vegetarian Day 2010
World Vegetarian Day events are a focus of a vegetarian year and this year Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland will be hosting Lifestyle Expos, while other areas will have their own celebrations. Whether you are planning your own vegetarian dinner parties, or joining in an arranged picnic or outing, you can make a difference by showing your support for the day and including non-vegetarians in your celebrations.
The Food and Lifestyle Expos are exciting events and your participation will make these days great. Register to run a stall, provide a talk or cooking demonstration, or bring friends along to browse, eat, and enjoy being in the company of others with similar lifestyle choices.

Sunday 10th October 10:00 – 4:30 pm
Wow – we really can’t believe our Vegetarian Food & Lifestyle Festival has come and gone so quickly after so many months of planning! We have received some great feedback, with comments pouring in from visitors and stallholders alike, indicating that everyone had a great day. We had up to 3000 people attending the Festival and everyone really appreciated the mix of hourly talks in the Speakers’ Corner, Cooking Demonstrations running throughout the day, and the variety of stalls available to be munched, talked, viewed or otherwise experienced. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan food stalls, raw food stalls, skin care, animal welfare groups, new books, second hand books, vegetarian wine and beer tasting, special recipe books, supplements, reflexology, massage, and spinal checks, lifestyle products like soy candles, and meditation stalls by groups promoting the vegetarian lifestyle. The NZ Vegetarian Society took the opportunity of the Festival to launch the new colour, spiral bound version of their “Home Tried Favourites” recipe book. This is still available at the Festival price of $20 per copy(plus $2 postage) – order your copy now
Thank you for joining us at our Festival. We had a great day.
