NZ Vegetarian Society Announces Annual General Meeting
Auckland, 24 July 2025 — The New Zealand Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on 30 August at HPB Lodge. All current members are invited to attend.
This year’s AGM will be a heartfelt occasion as the Society honours the retirement of Vice President Jeanette Blackburn, whose contributions span nearly four decades. Jeanette joined the NZVS Executive Committee in 1986 and served as Secretary from 1991 to 2014, later becoming Vice President. Her tireless volunteer work has included involvement with the Parents Group, the Vegetarian Society Trademark, countless stalls, and meticulous proofreading of pamphlets and magazines. Jeanette has also been a trusted sounding board and a source of countless helpful suggestions over the years.
The AGM will also mark the closure of the Wellington branch, acknowledging the contributions of its members and volunteers over the years. The Society extends its sincere gratitude to Caroline Jack, President of the Wellington branch, for her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the vegetarian community in the region.
The AGM will include updates on the Society’s activities, future initiatives, and opportunities for members to engage in open discussion. Lunch will be held at the the Status Restaurant immediately following the meeting.
