We are delighted to introduce our new Marketing and Communications Manager Robecca Leyden! Hailing from Auckland, Robecca is a graduate of the University of Auckland with a BA in English, Philosophy and Art History. A post-grad in Communications and grad courses in Google AdWords and SEO. Her work has been featured in many publications both locally and internationally. Additionally, Robecca is a seasoned journalist and interviewer and has covered New Zealand Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Melbourne Fashion Festival. She also writes on culture and social issues, including a full-page feature in the Herald on the #MeToo movement. She sits on the council for the Auckland Museum Institute. Robecca is the founder of Sans Pareil Online, a creative platform that began as a fashion and lifestyle blog before evolving into a broader independent media outlet.
Robecca found vegetarianism through her deep love of animals. When Robecca was nine, she spent a summer at her much older half-sister’s farm and grew an attachment to the farm pig. When she realised the pig was to be served for Christmas dinner, she made a little protest poster stating, "Pigs are People too!” and stood by the oven - to the dismay of her family. To this day, she hasn't eaten a single pig product and cites that as the beginning of a life-long passion for animal welfare. When she isn’t managing communications, she and her partner, Greg, dedicate their free time to volunteering and fostering rescue dogs.
Welcome Robecca, we are excited to have you on board!
